Dear David,
We love you.
You embodied and helped us create the spirit of Brixton. From your early days growing up on Stansfield Road, you carried the essence of our vibrant community into your music and your life. Your fearless innovation and boundless creativity have inspired generations of artists and dreamers here in Brixton and beyond.
We remember you not just as a global icon but as one of our own. Your legacy continues to shine brightly, a testament to the power of art and individuality. Thank you for showing us that it's okay to be different, to push boundaries, and to always strive for something greater.
Brixton and Harlem, A Love Affair
Last year, after Brixton business and community leaders travelled to Harlem to explore the Common Threads between Brixton and Harlem, several exciting collaborations began between our two communities. One of the delegates, Hammant, founder of Supercute and Supercut Brewhouse, is partnering with Harlem Brewing to open a newly refurbished taproom on Market Row in Brixton Village. Starting next week, this super cool taproom will bring the vibrant culture of Harlem infused with the unique spices of Brixton.
RSVP and see if you get invited to this Cool VIP launch for local businesses. Meet Harlem Brewing founder Celeste Beatty and enjoy complimentary beers, food, and DJ performances as they kick off this unique cross-Atlantic partnership to celebrate Brixton and Harlem’s culture.
