Welcome!
If you are getting The Bcc list for the first time, welcome!
You are joining 5015 Brixtonians and Brixtonites, who get this every week. The Bcc list is your official access to all things Brixton. Written by Brixtonians, we love Brixton too and want to support the people, creators, and business owners who contribute to creating Brixton's Culture capital. Every week, we do the hard work connecting you to the culture, creators, and events while securing exclusive discounts and showing you places you didn’t know existed.
First, we have to settle the debate! What’s the difference between a Brixtonite and a Brixtonian? Let’s clear that up.
You are a Brixtonian.
If you’ve been here since before the year 2000, you’re a true Brixtonian. You've seen it all—from the highs, the lows, and everything in between. You know we only used to have three crackheads. Remember "Reggae Reggae" and Red Records? Your roots are deeper than the London Underground!
You are a Brixtonite.
If you moved to Brixton post-2000, welcome, you’re a Brixtonite! You've brought fresh vibes and maybe a slightly heavier wallet. You're why artisanal coffee shops and yoga studios are now a thing. To the Brixtonians, you might seem a little posher and more polished, but you share that same rebellious spirit and love the vibe. You are the energy we need and sometimes care more than we do about Brixton. Dare I say, you are the modern jolt to our eclectic mix.
Together, we will make it clear to the crackheads that’s not what we meant when we said light it up! Light up Electric Avenue.
